Orpheus
Through my recent work with the NorthEast Shakespeare Ensemble (NESE), I became somewhat obsessed with setting Elizabethan texts to music. These pieces are a few of the many that I managed to churn out, mostly in the wee hours of the morning. The album as a whole is meant to serve as one long Elizabethan day dream, interrupted by the occasional “pallet cleansor” from the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book. I hope the resulting combination pleases.
